About

My name is Ting Zhao. I am an art teacher as well as practising visual art at TAFE SA. Visual art is always my passion since my childhood. However, unfortunately, it was underestimated and not valued back in my age in my home country - China. Unlike many other artists who got trained from very early age, I only learned some sketching and painting when I was 10 years old, then I spent most my career in my first 35 years in other fields, like logistics, psychology and education. During this period, painting and drawing were only my part-time hobby. Self teaching was my main learning method in visual art at that time. 

The struggles in my previous jobs kept reminding me what my passion was and what I really want to devote my life to. Art is always the answer and the only thing that can make me tuned out from the outside world and enjoy the every minute in the current moment. Driven by this strong will in my heart, after I got my Master degree in Teaching from University of South Australia, I decided to pursue my dream. I bravely stepped out of my comfort zone and started my professional learning in visual art from 2022 at TAFE SA. It is an interesting and fruitful journey. The study has broadened my horizon from different ways.
